color wheel

Hi everyone...is anyone actually there??
anyway, wanted to post a picture of my color wheel quilt in progress.  wanting some more flea market fancy for this quilt, but I honestly think it will be fantastic with or without those fabrics.
do you suppose I can add a few gray prints?  i just love Denyse Schmidts new Hope Valley so much, I can't bear to leave my favorite prints out!
And it does not surprise me to see my purple section is really lacking substance...must keep looking for purple.  and seeing this picture makes me think I need to boost the red section too.

any advice from the peanut gallery??

  1. I'm here...limiting myself so I can go sew. I agree, I think you need a bit more purple and red/orange or a little less blue. Anchor and triangulate the primary colours first (red, yellow, blue) equally, and then fil in the secondary (green, orange, purple). It looks like blues are dominating your wheel. Just feedback - but I LOVE the look of it.

I have some FMF I'd be willing to part with ;-) I think it's the pink/orange stuff though. I'll have to check. Also have Katie Jump Rope. Probably not the colours you're looking for!

  2. I'm here! I agree, purple is hard to find. Here are some purple suggestions:

  3. Hi Jenny! I have a long winded post I just put up on my blog - I think you might want to read it! xoxom http://thehappyzombie.com/blog/?p=393

  4. Way to go you are way farther along then me on this project! The wheel is a bit blue heavy... I think grey is fine but it should probably be only one spoke.

  5. Love your color wheel! The fabrics in there are awesome. I agree you need more purple and red - but not being a purple fan, I don't have any good suggestions. With the red you may try some of the Amy Butler full moon dots or lotus, or the reds in KJR - they are quite nice!

  6. You know, you might be fine if you just trim down your blues and spread them out a little better? They are taking up 1/4 of your circle so far. Though they are my favorites too, and I wouldn't mind seeing a lopsided colorwheel with my favorite taking the lead!

  8. Mine would have to have more red too, but I do like the gray....

  9. It's funny how we don't realize how one-sided our stash is until we do a project like this. I just discovered my lack of purple as well when I pulled everything out for a similar project. What you have is gorgeous, but I agree with the other comments (so I won't bother re-typing the same advice!)
