Bloggers' Quilt Festival

I had serious doubts of joining in Amy's Bloggers' Quilt Festival this year...I wanted to show my postage stamp quilt, but I just haven't had the oomph to get it finished...well, I did it!! 

Just finished the binding 10 minutes ago, so it needs washed and dried yet, but no time like the present to blog about it!


This quilt marks the first time I have used a jelly roll!  I used 1974 designed by Urban Chiks for Moda.  I was lucky enough to find the textured teal solid that was released with the line at my local quilt shop!!



Here is a detal shot of the quilting design.  Simple, but really fun I think.  I debated adding a border...and still think it might have been a good idea...but I was ready to have this one done.  I do like the dotty fabric for binding though...

Ok, Happy Halloween, we are off to a birthday/costume party for my nephews.

    Oh Jenny, I have always wanted to make one of these, and yours is simply divine. I adore that teal and the using a jelly roll is a fabulous idea. Congrats on a wonderful quilt and a great finish. xo

    Jenny, I love your quilt. The teal as the background fabric is outstanding.. I don't think it needs a border, perfect the way it is.

    Well done for getting the oomph to finish this beautiful quilt! I'm sorely tempted to try another postage stamp quilt but the last one I did sent me cross eyed :D

    I love the solid color you used with this. And that quilting is really cool. I don't know if I would be ready to tie that many loose threads, but what a great effect!

    Looks fantastic! But... I've never actually quilted anything major before.. but.... do you really have to wash it after you finish it? What else do I need to know..

    Dots are always a winner for bindings. I love love this quilt! The quilting is perfect, and I love it sans border. Great job!

    Yay for finishing! It's such a pretty quilt. All of those squares-- yikes! And you must have had to bury a ton of thread ends! Your quilting is superb.
